Yesterday, Master Armen officially made me a sensei. Margaret quit the dojo and is now taking Tae Kwan Do!!! (scandalous) I got her classes and will be teaching two or three times a week. That and cleaning the dojo pretty much pays for my lessons--group and private. I have my own keys and Master Armen says I can go to the dojo any time I want and practice. I taught with him yesterday. He had the children call me Sensei Lisa and they bowed to me. I was in charge of the white belts--four little boys--all very serious about becoming ninjas. I used to hate teaching, but in the last few weeks, I've come to enjoy it. I think it's because I feel more confident about my body and skill. My confidence rubs off on the kids, and they are more respectful and listen. Life is good. |
