Ondine She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan 2004-11-05 8:51 AM Work in progress Meme Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (1) |
RULES: If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current work(s) in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favorite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion. Mention the title (and genre) if you like, but don't mention anything else. This is merely to whet the general appetite for your forthcoming work(s). I keep editing this :). Mix of sci fi, fantasy, horror This is from my novel, A Faery's Child. He floated in the miasma, and sneered at the human female who trudged through the drifts below him--Ugly, fat humans--only good for one thing . . . From Faceless in the House of Night Caleb rode eastward, away from the setting sun--away from the light--across the huge dunes of the Mojave. From The Buinne I stopped speaking when my sister died. From Dancing Queen and the Elusive Moybell To Helena, the wild chaparral held siege on the verdant sod covering the dead. From Toys Smoking was a shitty habit that would probably kill her, but the stink and the dryness it left in her throat reminded Hillary that she lived in a body of mortal flesh, in a real world. |
