We had Joe's second IEP meeting, this morning. The principle, director, teacher, and program specialist from Foothill were there. These people are all genuinely kind and understanding of Joe's situation. I feel so much better, today. I took Joe to see the school afterward and he liked it a lot. The energy is good there and I realized what a relief it's going to be to have all that support. For the past year it's just been Dr. Mik three times a week and me. I've had to carry Joe for so long, pretty much alone. It will be a huge relief to let go. He and I went to breakfast after we saw the school. We were talking about the three stooges, pulp fiction, and Mel Brooks movies--laughing and enjoying our burgers for breakfast. He was very much awake and happy. After talking to Dr. Mik yesterday, I am cutting his meds again. If he does well, I am going to ask Dr. Haraszti if it's safe to take him off the lithium now.

I know as Joe gets better, I will have to deal with the grief that I've been able to shut away for so long, but I think it will be okay. Right now, I am just feeling very grateful. Angela and Danielle are coming home next week for a whole month. Joe is better. Going to Santa Cruz with Dennis in January. I have good friends, good family. I've written 8 poems in the last two weeks and I think I have enough in me to do a book of them.

One of the movie stations is showing back to back Tarentino movies, Christmas Day. Joe and I have decided we are going to have a Tarentino Christmas, with a good dose of the Stooges.

Fetch the wood, carry the water. Life goes on.
