Ondine She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan 2006-01-11 2:59 PM The Same Situation Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (3) |
The Same Situation Joni Mitchell You’ve had lots of lovely women Now you turn your gaze to me Weighing the beauty and the imperfection To see if I’m worthy Like the church Like a cop Like a mother You want me to be truthful Sometimes you turn it on me like a weapon though And I need your approval Still I sent up my prayer Wondering who was there to hear I said send me somebody Who’s strong, and somewhat sincere With the millions of the lost and lonely ones I called out to be released Caught in my struggle for higher achievements And my search for love That don’t seem to cease Well so much for 2006 being easier... I had to choose between him and me or me, this weekend. For the first time I chose me. And it's fucking hard. I stood up for myself, stated what I needed, what I couldn't tolorate. I knew we'd break up. I knew if I didn't do it, we'd stay together, but I would lose my soul again. I just got it back after 28 years. I wasn't going down there again. He said I was fragile--he was so wrong. Andy, you were so correct. Next time, I will listen to you, and Angela, and Paige, and everyone else. Well maybe. :) Anyways, the music was great. Portland was creepy, but the situation I was in could have contributed to the weirded out ambiance of the place. If it wasn't raining, it was raining harder. People were very nice though. I love Bluegrass. |
