Ondine
She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She's got everything she needs, She's an artist, she don't look back. She can take the dark out of the nighttime And paint the daytime black. --Bob Dylan

Poetry Reading

My class had it's poetry reading, last night, at Dutton's Bookstore in Brentwood. Out of 12 students, only 5 of us remained--the others fallen aside when they realized poetry is not easy. We brought our friends (hugs Jenn) and family, and our teacher, Laurel Ann Bogan invited two of her students from other classes. Dutton's is a charming, privately owned bookstore. We read in the coffee area. I had heard the poems of my fellow students and had read them over to critique them. All were exquisite. These girls can write! I was last to read. Major discovery: I am a ham! I love reading!! I felt very relaxed, and basked in the applause, laughter, and even a few tears--fortunately people laughed at the funny bits and cried at the sad--not the other way around. When I was done, my first thought was, "Hey! I want to go again!" Reminded me of the roller coaster rides at Magic Mountain. I've signed up for Laurel's intermediate class, so I can continue this addiction.
