2004-03-25 6:38 AM Swords and lettuce Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) After several modern-day, slipstreamy fantasies, I'm heading back towards the good, old-fashioned medieval fantasy with tournaments, knights, swords and magic for my current short story. It's kind of satisfying. Not that I don't like the slipstreamy stuff, but there's a lot more fun to be had with men bashing each other over the head with swords. Not many places publish this kind of stuff anymore, sadly, Black Gate, Realms of Fantasy occasionally, that's all really. But what can you do?
I seem to be in this limbo state again where editors don't reply to my submissions. No doubt this is my fault for sending my stories to markets I know have long response times, and yes, I really would rather wait for a positive response, however long it takes, rather than get a quick "no", but I would love these things to be nicely spaced. Maybe one response every two weeks, regularly, rather than nothing for months and three on the same day. I would also like world peace and free vegan chocolate cake at cafes.
