This morning, on the way to work, we stopped in and bought The Return of the King on DVD. It was £14.99 (from Morrisons, for those of you in the UK), which was a hell of a lot cheaper than anywhere else. With it came free a motion activated speaking magnetic Gollum. Apparently, if you move your hand in front of it, it says "My precious" or "Filthy little hobbitsis". I haven't yet tried it out. I'm at work. Somehow, I don't think we'll be doing much this evening, other than watching the DVD and waving our hands at Gollum. This weekend I made my first ever Nebula nomination. It was exciting. The power at my fingertips! The fate of hundreds of hopeful writers is mine to crush at will. Of something like that. I ummed and ah-ed about whether I should say what I nominated here. In the end, I decided not to. The point of nominating is to put forward stories you think deserve to be considered for the award, not to win brownie points or reciprocal nominations from the person you nominated. Incidentally, although the Gollum is magnetic, he doesn't actually stick to metal surfaces. He just kind of slides down. He looks far more evil than in the movie. For some reason, they've given him small eyes. And a far larger loincloth. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
