I don't enjoy this time of year. Here's what I don't enjoy about it: I'm processing expenses claims for people teaching on various summer schools that I administer. Now, most of the time I'm happy with my salary. It gets us by without too many complaints. Then comes July, and in come the expenses claims. Bah. I glower my way through their exhorbitant restaurant bills, their £200 laundry bills, their cafe bills and all of the rest, and wonder why exactly I'm doing what I'm doing.

I've started to disappear under paperwork. It is rising on my desk, inevitably, irresistably, scarily, and it's looking at me, and I don't like it.

I think I'm in a bad mood because I didn't sleep well last night. I had a nightmare about organising the wedding. Everyone was hanging around and it was 15 minutes before the wedding was due to begin and no one would leave the bar they were in. The Nautilus was involved too, but I guess that's because we were talking about it last night.

I should update on my pseudo-shadow Clarion West challenge, but it would be embarrassing. Let's just say that I didn't quite hit the target. Again.

On the cheery side... wait, no, there isn't a cheery side. I'm in a bad mood. I'll have to admit it. Cheery will have to wait until tomorrow.
