2004-10-25 4:38 PM Stolen explosives Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) We find out that the US led "coalition" managed to lose 380 tons of Iraqi high-explosives that, until the invasion of Iraq, had been monitored because they could be used to detonate nuclear warheads. Apparently, though, the US knew about it, but chose to stay quiet:
"A senior administration official told CNN that national security adviser Condoleezza Rice was notified about the missing weapons about a month ago. Iraq Survey Group inspectors are investigating, the official said. "The discovery was not made public sooner because standard intelligence practice is not to let the enemy know such information, the official said." http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/10/25/iraq.explosives/index.html Okay, let's ignore the fact that the enemy probably knows if it's stolen 380 tons of something (hard to miss, really) and ask: Was that really the reason that you didn't tell us about it? Couldn't there have been another small reason? Just a little one? C'mon. I'll give you a clue: it starts with "e" and ends in "lection".
