Steph had the same thing before me, but has recovered enough to go out. I'm lying around moaning pitifully. Right now, I'm on major painkillers so I'm managing to look at the screen. Being ill sucks.
There was a nice review of The Western Front in Tangent Online today. Many thanks to Sherwood Smith for her kind comments. Nice reviews are, well, nice. Writers have such fragile egos and we're so easily pleased. Please us. The UK general election has only 9 more days to go, and it's been a bit dull, to be frank. I've not seen a window poster/lawn sign for any of the parties. There are lots of adverts, but they are uninspiring and negative, and most of the population seems uninterested. The Conservatives have finally dropped their slogan "Are you thinking what we're thinking?" because it turned out that people were thinking "I'm thinking you're a hopeless bunch of bigoted lunatics, is that what you were thinking?", which apparently wasn't the idea. I like Jennifer Weiner. I haven't read any of her books, but Steph pointed out her blog to me. It's one of the most entertaining blogs I've read, so I may be converted yet. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
