After journalling tediously about how I was going sort out the various what-nots claiming my precious time, I was whacked by that damned virus again and ended up not doing anything for a week. So, on the news front: there's been a whole lot of lying around moaning piteously, lots of reading, a really unpleasant afternoon cleaning the house while running a fever so that a builder could come and look around. That's it. WorldCon is coming up in only a bit over a week. We're getting excited. We haven't been to a WorldCon since 2001, and I had a trapped nerve at the time, so I was wandering around not seeing much. Last night I even had a dream about WorldCon. Except, for some reason we'd missed it, and we were meeting everyone coming back from it. Only these were people from my high school, who I haven't met in the xteen years since. They were all telling us how great it was been, and so I was considering not missing it after all. If only time worked out that neatly in the waking world. I've been struggling through revisions to The Sleepers. My agent doesn't like the characters in the first draft. Changing the characters without rewriting the entire novel is surprisingly difficult. I don't want to rewrite the entire novel, because I think it works and I think it's good. So I crawl on through, trying to give them more depth and make them more likeable. Ho hum. Revising sucks.
