The Best Tea in the World, and other observations

The best tea in the world comes from Betjeman and Barton in Paris. They are the people who supply our favourite cafe in the Universe, Plaisir du Chocolat, which is in Edinburgh. Just look at that array of teas! Don't tell me you're not salivating!

We got an order from Plaisir du Chocolat today. Steph got some Tanzanian hot chocolate (it comes as pure chocolate that you have to melt) and I got Genmaicha Japanese green tea, and some gunpowder Chinese green. I'm just about to take the first sip on the Genmaicha.

Jenny Crusie has an great essay up on how to get published, "Stalking the Wild Editor: How to Get Published, Maybe", including a neat little guide to writing a synopsis:

Start with nine index cards. At the top write the following:

1. The Trouble Starts.
2. The protagonist makes a plan to cope with the trouble.
3. The Trouble Gets Worse.
4. The protagonist regroups and presses on harder.
5. The Point of No Return: The protagonist has changed too much to go back.
6. The protagonist is pushed to the brink and struggles even harder.
7. The protagonist appears to have lost.
8. The protagonist fights on because there's nothing else she can do.
9. The trouble ends.

Read the whole thing here.

For over a week now, we've had beautiful Autumn weather: clear blue skies, sunshine, and frost that lasts all day in the shade. The last of the leaves are falling fast from the trees, almost sounding like rain in the woods.
