When introduced to foods that do not provoke a panic response, Hunter considers eating to be a full-body experience. (Yes, especially nursing.) His contribution to the consumption of baby food often involves the following ritual:


  1. Grab full bowl of spoon in fist.
  2. Shove entire hand in mouth.
  3. Fling utensil aside disdainfully.
  4. Rub eyes with squelchy hands in such a way as to maximize distribution of food.


Today, he added an additional element to the process:


  1. Grab spoon.
  2. Shove hand in mouth.
  3. Drop spoon.
  4. Rub eyes.
  5. Grab cat.


Poor Tia. She just looked at me plaintively as I detached his sticky little grip, flecks of oatmeal adorning her fur. She is such a tolerant kitty.
