As mentioned previously, I've been holding onto a story I wrote because it seemed a perfect match for Cicada, but they were currently not accepting submissions due to being overbooked.

I've been checking their website every couple of weeks for an update on their status, and found this today:

We at The Cricket Magazine Group know that teenagers' interests and tastes constantly evolve, and we want CICADA to evolve with them. Therefore we are re-examining the scope, focus, and format of CICADA, and are no longer accepting submissions for the magazine in its current format.

Please check our web site periodically for updates on our submission guidelines. Thank you for your interest, and we hope that you will be successful in placing your work elsewhere.

Gah. Gotta go market shopping again.
