Must Read Authors - yet again...

I read a lot of books in September but October is a little slower.

Since my last Must Read Authors post, I finished HARBINGERS by F. Paul Wilson. Very good read, advancing the story satisfactorily (for me). I also added another "Must Read" name. A friend started me on Joseph Finder, who writes about executives of big businesses (so far anyway). I've read COMPANY MAN and PARANOIA, both of which were quite good. Couldn't put down PARANOIA after I started to get into it.

And lastly, I finished Stephen White's KILL ME, a different type of Alan Gregory novel. Gregory is a psychologist set in Boulder Colorado, and while he is a character in this book, he's just a bit player. The story is told by a successful, rich, good looking, relatively smart businessman, who has taken out "insurance" in case he is incapacitated in an accident or by disease. Then events conspire to make him regret his decision to purchase said "insurance." Excellent story, well told, with, as I said, a different voice than the other Alan Gregory novels.

I was also debating whether to send off my dental mystery to Poisoned Pen Press, but I'm about 15K words short of their minimum. If it was 5K, I might just ship it off...but 15K is a lot. I am going to try to do some more rewrites. Looking for bits that I can expand upon. Not sure I can do it.

Till later,

Scott
