Apparently the Famous Potatoes (John Prine's former backing band and hot Chicago club band from the early 1980's) played a reunion gig on Saturday, July 5th, at Fitzgerald's Nightclub in Berwyn, Illinois. If you're curious about who the Potatoes are/were, check my previous post which discusses them. Their lead singer and rhythm guitarist, Mike Jordan, passed away several years ago, and I'm wondering who handled the vocals. I suppose they could have split them up between the other singing members, including John Burns, Tom Piekarski, and Bob Hoban. I also saw where John Burns (here's his Myspace page) played at the Sidebar at Fitzgerald's earlier the same day. They have always been a tremendously fun band to see live. I wish I could have seen it. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
