2008-07-17 12:29 PM Why I hate ordering online Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) I went to Amazon to look for CD's by my son's best friend's dad, Jeff Boyle. He has four CD's out, but only one that Amazon has in stock. I ordered that one, and then searched among those affiliated sellers for the other two. One was easy to find, and I bought it, at what seemed to me to be a good price. (I don't have that one yet.)
The other one, simply titled "3", was harder to locate, but when it came up on a search, I selected the one that sounded the best. Well, a CD came from that seller but it wasn't the CD I thought I was getting. As I said, I thought I was getting "3" by the Jeff Boyle Band, and I did notice on my order that one of the titles sounded odd. It was called "3" but was not Jeff Boyle, it was something by Rock Star Club. After reading it a couple of times, I concluded that it was the right item, and that Rock Star Club was either a subtitle or sort of like a label. (It wasn't very clear.) Well, it is a CD by someone called Rock Star Club, but it isn't titled "3", it's called AMERICA NEEDS ROCK STAR CLUB. When I contacted the seller, they said that it's the item I ordered, that Amazon told them I ordered, and they would not take it back or issue credit. Silly me. I thought when I searched for "3" by the Jeff Boyle Band the listing that would come up would actually be CD's with that title, and by that artist. Today, when I do the same search, Amazon reports no matches for the search. When you can't physically SEE the item you're trying to order, you just can't be sure. Disappointing. I guess it's my fault for buying it even when the Amazon confirmation didn't mention Jeff Boyle or the Jeff Boyle band. All I can say is, be careful...
