I'm sort of out of that scene these days - I really don't know what's coming through the pipe, and the little I do know, I am not sure I like that much. (Maybe I'm getting too old for the "kid's" music these days...)
Anyway, I was doing some Google searches on some old rock bands' names and came across a blog called Chicagoland Radio and Media Blog, which talked about a lot of those bands, which sort of seem like old friends to me lately. Some of the names of some of those old bands: Trillion, featuring Dennis "Fergie" Fredrickson, who later sang for Toto on several of their hits Survivor, with Jim Peterik, the artists who gave us "Eye of the Tiger" Gambler, who had a link to my high school days from Joliet Illinois The Boyzz, a raunchy motorcycle rock band The Hounds, a new wave-y power pop band Shoes, a really neat studio project, mostly The Way Moves, a punk rock band with a lot of the rough edges smoothed out on the music E*I*E*I*O, another power pop band with some really catchy tunes Street Kids, another power pop band. Elvis Brothers, a power pop trio who suffered from the comparison to Stray Cats, even though there were more differences than similatiries The Bad Examples, Ralph Covert's (of the kids' music act known as "Ralph's World") power pop band, with great songwriting and my favorites: Mike Jordan and the Rockamatics, a roots rock roadhouse outfit that could blow the roof off of any bar or nightclub There were a bunch of others, names like Tantrum, The Kind, Dreamer, and more, but I didn't know their stuff as well. Here's a specific post that talks about some of these acts back in the good old days... Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
