2009-03-16 3:28 PM The Disney Times - an 8 year old's view of Disney Parks Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) I posted something like this over at my Disney blog.
My 8 year old son got together with a group of his friends at school, and they were putting out a "newspaper" called the Daily Chocolate. But somehow this became an issue (I think because it was causing the kids to fight among themselves which is sorta silly - but they're 3rd graders...) and the teacher told them they could no longer do it. So my son decided (with his 6 year old brother) to put out his own "newspaper", the Disney Times. So far his paper is a bunch of hand drawn representations of his favorite Disney park icons, like the Mexico Pavilion and Soarin', accompanied by his hand-written descriptions of them. I have to say I'm fairly impressed with this. Maybe I'm easily impressed, or maybe I'm biased (okay, I'm definitely biased) but I think it's pretty cool that he's creating something like this to hand out to his classmates who want it. (I told him that he can't charge for it, which they were doing with the Daily Chocolate, with the currency being pencils.) And I'm happy that Disney inspired him to play around with this little project. It's fun watching your kids grow up, watching how their brains work.
