My reading choices of late

I stopped in Barnes and Noble over my lunch hour today, and looked at the selection of new hardcover books in SF and mystery, and nothing grabbed me!

I was sort of surprised. Usually something sounds good. By contrast when I looked at the young adult stuff, several titles looked interesting.

I'm wondering if this says more about the books that have come out recently, or about me. Perhaps I've regressed to be a junior high aged reader again. Not in vocabulary or comprehension, but in subject matter preference.

Or maybe it just says that nothing that interesting was on the new release shelves. (I'm not talking about the old standby authors, but I was looking at the newer titles by authors unfamiliar to me...)

Anyway, it seemed like a good post to close the year with, and so I'll end it by saying, Happy New Year to any and all readers here!
