Terrorists in DC

They're at it again - shutting down the government in order to "defund" the health care law.

They really just can't stand the thought of anyone other than the people they work for (hint: it ain't the majority of us) having access to affordable health care. And they've got people so divided that no one will pay an extra dime for health insurance so that the whole country can have access to health care.

(News flash - everyone has access to emergency care anyway. They go to the emergency room, get expensive tests, get seen by well compensated personnel, and leave without paying a dime. And hospitals use this as justification for raising their fees to amounts that they should be embarrassed to be charging for an overnight stay. So "the rest of us" are already paying for their ineffective and expensive health care.)

It's terrorist tactics. Similar to gun legislation, the wishes of a few are placed above the wishes of many. Because regardless of what you feel about the Affordable Healthcare Act, you don't want a shutdown of government.

(Hey! Does this mean I don't have to send in my payroll taxes on time? )

Here. Go read author Steven M. Moore's thought-provoking blog on the subject. (and consider buying one of his interesting SF/thriller books while you're there!) The Affordable Care Act: confusion and demagoguery

And that's all I have to say about that (as Forrest would say)...for now...
