Some new books...

I just finished two books that were new to me:

BRIDE OF DEATH by T.A. Pratt, who used to blog in these here parts. It's another of his Marla Mason books, and while I maybe didn't like it quite as much as I liked the rest of the series, it was a fun read. I think my slightly lower level of "liking" it was probably due to the direction the story has gone. The title says it all in that respect. Marla is no longer "just" a sorcerer. She's something more now.

PATHFINDER by Orson Scott Card, which has been sitting in our house for over a year, when my son got it on one of his trips to the bookstore. But it's new to me. He finally bugged me enough that I read it, and I was glad that I did. What seems like a book about some kids with magical powers turns into a SF epic, and I want to know more about this story. Fortunately I have the next book, RUINS, on my Kindle.

And to read:

ARISTOCRATS AND ASSASSINS, Steven M. Moore. Moore writes technothrillers set in the not-too-distant future, and this one finds his detectives Chen and Castilblanco going to Europe. I don't know the plot beyond that yet, but the other Chen and Castilblanco books have been good, so I'm expecting another good read. It's next on the list for me.

MISSING YOU, Harlan Coben. The latest from a master of the blast-from-the-past plot twist. I'm not sure I'll get to it immediately after ARISTOCRATS but it won't be too long.

And finally:

TEN FOR DYING, Eric Mayer and Mary Reed. This one just came from Amazon in paperback (I have all of them in this format and didn't want to switch to ebook at this time). Like Moore's series, John and company have yet to disappoint me. Looking forward to another good read.

If you get the chance, and have a Kindle (or a kindle app for any number of tablets and computers and such), take a look at my author page on Amazon: Scott Dyson
