2004-11-12 10:59 AM Half an hour =eternity in heaven I slept in this morning since I had gone ahead and taken the day off. I had yesterday off due to Veterans day, but then we were scheduled to go back to work today which just seemed like a complete waste since no one was going to actually work anyway. So I burned a vacation day.
So, I slept in, but of course nowadays "sleeping in" means that the Kid wakes up at 4:45 and wants a boob, so I crawl my groggy ass out of bed and get her and rock her and give her the boob she wants. And of course, I've learned from experience that this late in the morning she's not going to go back to sleep in her crib so I bring her back to our bed and stick her next to Jack where she promptly falls right back to sleep. Then, I put on a bathrobe, go downstairs and get the newspaper from the driveway, make a bowl of oatmeal, sit down in the living room, and hook myself up to the pump to drain the other side while I read the paper and eat my oatmeal. Then I go back to bed and shove the bedhogging baby over and grab another half an hour of sleep before Jack gets up. See, on a work day I wouldn't get to go back to bed for that half an hour! I did give in and take Anna to daycare this morning, but I'm going to pick her up pretty early this afternoon. It's just SSSSOOOooooo much easier to get errands run and stupid chores like washing dishes done without having to lug the Monster Baby around. And I also need to get online at some point today and order a new whiz-bang laptop. I've been making do with an oooollldddd gateway that my mom had for my portable computing, but it's really a piece of shit, and even more of a piece of shit now that the space bar and the m key have ceased to work. I have a feeling that a certain member of this household spilled something on it, and no, I'm not talking about the baby or me. I'll probably just go the Dell route again and finance the bugger.
