But an old dog can teach a trick

So, Precious Babykins has a new trick. Over the weekend I was over at Kat's house with PB, and my former dog Zeus was there. Err.. I mean, Zeus is still a dog, he's not a former dog. He formerly was MY dog. Everyone clear now?

Yeah, I'm a writer. Sheesh.

Anyway. Zeus had a big stuffed ball that he was playing with, and at one point he dropped it on the floor in front of PB. Well, when PB tried to grab it, he snatched it up in his jaws and trotted off with it. At that instant PB realized, "Hey Cool! Neat trick!" Less than a minute later, PB picked up my phone, stuck it in her mouth, and started carrying it around in her mouth. Now she carries everything around in her mouth. It's hysterical. Today she had a gigantic stuffed block in her mouth. I tried to get a picture of it, but she dropped it before I could get the camera.

In other news, our partial was among the first 100 received, and so we get an interview with an editor or agent. Woot! The cynical side of me went and did some market research on the agents and editors that are confirmed attendees, and I found that they're all legit and fairly prominent. The big negative is that the whole thing is geared pretty heavily toward non-genre literary, however when I called and talked to the woman organizing the conference she assured me that genre stuff was totally welcome. Besides, the way I look at it, it can't hurt to get a bit of an "in", even with someone who doesn't buy/represent sf/f. Heck, if they won't buy it, they can give it to someone who does..LOL

This day: 1999

Yesterday: 2001 (Not sure how I forgot to put this link up yesterday. Heck, it was because of this incident that I met Jack!)
