A week or so ago I started having an odd pain/ache in my neck, and upon duly probing it I felt something that felt slightly lumpish which hurt more upon being duly probed. It didn't feel like a gland or a gland-type hurtiness, but I figured it would go away in a day or two. Probably a pulled muscle or cyst or something. By Friday it was still slightly lumpish and vaguely hurty so Jack insisted that I go see a doctor. Yesterday the doctor said he thought maybe he felt something but that it could be just my carotid (at which point I'm thinking, "Sorry, but I know it feels different than usual and so then why does it hurt?") but before I could get annoyed he then said it was possible there was something behind the carotid and that just to be sure he wanted to get a CT scan.

So, this afternoon I am getting a scan of my neck.
