2005-06-06 1:03 PM Catching up and trying to make a Plan I have found that when I actually have interesting stuff to talk about, I have little or no time to sit down and do a journal entry about it. Sheesh. Catching up from last week: Anna had strep. Sister babysat her one day and caught said strep from her. Sister then talked me into giving a talk to "at-risk" girls. Gave said talk, then caught six-foot king snake who was meandering through group of girls. Snake managed to bite me, but I held the snake for the girls to pet. Released snake into the wild after explaining to the girls that you don't kill king snakes because they eat rats and mice. Got tetanus shot at sister's office since it's been about six years since my last one. Okay, now we're caught up. Lessseeee.. Oh, I bought an exercise bike over the weekend. Academy Sports had some at a really reasonable price, and since I am having a total bitch of a time getting to the gym (and running and walking have gone down the tubes because of my plantar fascitis) I figured that with a bike in the house I could do my biking early in the morning or after Anna is in bed. I mean, once upon a time I embarked on a Fitness Quest and actually did pretty fucking well. Of course I was single and childless back then, and the only demand on my time was work, so I could pretty much eat how I wanted and work out anytime I wanted. But I know I CAN stick to a plan if I can just get a plan in place. I won't be attempting anything anywhere near as intense as that previous program, but if I can drop 20 pounds by September (and Nasfic) I'll be pretty damn happy. So, the last two morning I've been virtuous and gotten up and have ridden the bike for 30 minutes. Nice thing about working out in the house is that I don't have to spend ten minutes wrestling into a sports bra (or two). I'm also liking the stationary biking since I actually have some time that I can do some reading. I might even catch up on all the back reading of my various magazines. Wouldn't that be amazing! As far as eating goes, Jack and I aren't doing anything insanely restrictive--more just eating clean and avoiding trash. Kind of a modified South Beach/Sugarbusters/Weight watchers kind of thing. We'll see how it goes. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
