2003-06-29 7:25 PM BAMF! X and I saw X-Men 2 yesterday at the cheapy theater. I consider it new still, so I was surprised it was already at a discount. Maybe it doesn't mean a thing, especially since I enjoyed the movie. And I haven't seen the first one yet! Lots of characters, lots of characters in conflict. Great special effects. It was a great summer movie.
I really liked Nightcrawler. If I was a mutant, I would want teleporting ability. Bamf is the sound of Nightcrawler teleporting, so in honor of this X-man I'm using Bamf! to do a disjointed and silly journal entry. BAMF! Don't ask me if I've seen either one of the Lord Of The Rings movies yet. BAMF! I worked on the novel today and when I'm done with this entry, I'll work on it some more. BAMF! WesterCon is in Seattle next weekend. I have that to look forward to. Other things to look forward to? There's the Denise Little workshop on the coast and Kris and Dean's. That's a weekend workshop where our submission stories have a chance to sell to a real Greenberg/Little anthology. We won't learn the theme of the anthology until two weeks before the workshop, then we bring the completed story with us. The workshop is August 15-17. I also plan to go to the Surrey Writers Conference up in British Columbia, but that's not until October. I sent in submission stories for the Strange Horizons workshop, which is the weekend after the Denise Little one. If I'm accepted to Strange Horizons, it should make for a busy two weeks. All of this means I need to finish the novel, then I can work on short stories for those workshops. BAMF! Congrats to Jay Lake for selling his first story to Asimov's! BAMF! Stories Circulating: 8 (After The Sky Fell went back out to Strange Horizons) On Desk: 3 BAMF! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
