2003-07-28 7:07 PM Hot and bothered? No, hot and busy We've been having some hot weather the last couple of weeks. It will be close to one hundred degrees tomorrow. I can keep the apartment fairly cool with shaded windows and fans, but it's still hot.
I had another fifty hour week at the day job, yet I'm poking at the writing, trying to beat back the return of my old archenemy, Inertia. "After The Sky Fell" was rejected by Strange Horizons, but I got a letter with compliments by the new co-editor, Karen Meisner. Two days later I sent it back out to Fortean Bureau. Jay had been talking (or e-mailing, chatting, something) to the editor, Jeremy Tolbert, about my story (Jay had seen it and critiqued at workshop) and Mr. Tolbert said he'd like to see it. Two parentheticals in one sentence is a bit much don't ya think? Anyway, we'll see how the story fairs there. Networking in action but I didn't do anything except write the story. We got our anthology theme for the Denise Little workshop: Prophecies. I did some seeking on the Internet. Mother Shipton's lyrical predictions caught my eye. Just ideas, no story yet. Hey, I predict it's much cooler on the coast. Stories Circulating:7
