Mood: Optimistic Read/Post Comments (3) |
2003-10-09 4:06 PM Anticipation Greg posted an entry today that made me optimistic and look forward to seasonal layoff from my day job. That should happen at the start of Novemer or sometime during the month.
I'm eager, of course, for the writing time and eliminating the mental force of the day job that makes me plan my day and night around it. Greg has the right expectations for his full time writing status. He's not neccessarily looking for sales. He's going to write as much as he can. He's controling things within his power. I'm planning on getting as many words down as I can during my four or five months. I know I need to shed this funk and finish revising that first novel. I'd like to write a second one. The ambitious part of writing the second novel is I'd like to have it completed during those four/five months instead of letting the first draft sit around for a year. And the first draft of my first novel didn't have to sit around for a year because it needed to stew. I faltered in my discipline and I won't kid myself or lie to myself. Then there's the short stories. I'd like to write a bunch of stories too. Things to think about. Things to look forward to.
