Well, I couldn't sleep. When I started to think about story ideas I was whisked away in a zeppelin high above the surface of the earth where things were alien rather than familiar. I'm excited about my zeppelin story. It will be one of the stories I write during the next two months. If you think I'm going to elaborate on my idea, you'd be wrong.

I wrote a flash piece of fiction (400 words) this afternoon and turned it in to the workshop. I'll do that sometimes. I'll be working along on one story and when it's time to hand it in, I'll switch and write something small, something I don't think I care about. It isn't true, of course. I care about both stories. My critical voice keeps telling me I'm going to break the original one. Tomorrow (later today actually), I'll be writing on that work in progress.

The workshop was huge tonight. Over twenty five people and six stories to critique for next week.

Now maybe I'll come back down to earth and dream about, um, boxcars.
