2004-01-05 4:40 PM A short tale of Tales In The Mail
Oregon doesn't usually have winters like this-- snow sticking around and temperature getting down to the twenties and icy roads. People worry. Things get cancelled. Some people don't want to drive from Eugene to Salem for Eric's Tales In The Mail party. I laugh. This is nothing like a winter in the midwest. We drove up to Salem yesterday and it was actually a nice day. Some sun, mild temperatures, no icy roads. The forcast was what scared most people off. Also, Salem did get more snow than we did. Anyway, the mailing party went on as planned. Less people showed up than last time. That's alright, I missed last time. We sent over fifty, almost sixty stories. Other than that, and as far as I was concerned, this was just an excuse to hang out and talk with fellow writers and friends. We stayed until 10pm and I was glad to find the roads still weren't icy. They were icy this morning, however, and we got a light dusting of snow too. I sent three stories. Boys' Life, F&SF, and Third Alternative. That brought my total submissions to nine. Then, this morning, I got a rejection from Indy Men's Magazine. My first rejection of 2004! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
