Well, another Wordo has placed in the Writers Of The Future Contest. Blake Hutchins has won first place in the second quarter. Way to go Blake!

Also, this year's WOTF awards ceremony is in Seattle, the reason being the Science Fiction Museum. Stephen Stanley (our Wordo winner from last year) will be there to get his award. He's up for the grand prize as all first place winners every contest year are elgible.

I guess the contest administrators are encouraging the Wordos to come up for the awards ceremony if they can. This will be in August. Alas, I don't think I'll be able to make it.

I got an invitiation in the mail too. Nifty invitations, but alas, no. I can't go.

I've been working on a short story. Hopefully, a WOTF story. After that, I'll do a Trek story for the Strange New Worlds contest.

Then it's back to the novel. Need to be back on that August 1st.

We don't go see new movies too often. Usually we wait until the movie gets to the cheap theater ($1.50) or when it gets to DVD.

However, X had two free passes to any movie of our choosing. We picked Batman Begins. That was a great Batman movie. I didn't think I'd like the Batmobile, but you know, it was fine. I agree with the complaints about the fight scenes--the audiance has no idea who is hitting who. The fight scenes were filmed way too tight.

Gotta get that movie when it comes out in DVD.
