2006-09-14 8:11 PM Overdue Ah yes, a long overdue entry. Let's see, what's going on?
--Well, Ximena brought home a gray cat from the mill about a month ago. It seems he was without a home as he begged for food in the break room. We weren't planning on adopting another cat, but we haven't done much to find him a new home. Now, after all this time, he has a name (Asphalt) and he's establishing his territory. Kitty and Drillbit are somewhat used to him. Drillbit more than Kitty. Asphalt and Drillbit will play some kitty-cat smackdown and Kitty might referee. They've chased each other, too, and knocked down more than one plant. Asphalt is a beautiful dark gray cat with yellow eyes. He likes to nuzzle with his head and purrs when scratched. Either we'll find a new home for the little guy or else we'll have a permanent third cat. --Looks like World Fantasy Con in Austin is a go! I bought a membership and found some reasonable air fare for the two of us. Although we'll have to fly out of Portland. We like to fly out of Eugene for less travel hassle, but with the cost of air fare these days, we're saving two hundred dollars flying out of Portland. With a drive up there, we're still saving money. We'll have to use long term parking at the airport, alas, but we'll be fine. --Rejection today from Interfictions. A nice and very apologetic rejection. --I am in the process of ordering business cards, just in time for World Fantasy Con. --We made a trip to the coast and the aquarium recently. They still have the crabs and lobsters, a.k.a "Claws!" I must post some pictures here. I got a great picture of Ximena underneath a mural of a Japanese Spider Crab. I tell ya, it would make a great poster for a 1950's science fiction B movie. --Speaking of pictures. Apparently, give me a digital camera and I become a bit of a shutterbug. There are a lot of cat pictures. --I've had some good stretches where I write every day. There also have been stretches of days with no writing. Currently, I'm working on a short story. I got two of them that I'd like to write by the end of the month so that I can get back to the novel. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
