Apparently, the VP going out on a leave of absence for two months meant we repaint the lobby, get new furniture, and generally rearrange stuff all over the place. Our front reception area looked as if Barney the Dinosaur exploded in it. The walls were this deep purple/magenta color, and the door frames were a rich royal blue color that clashed like hell with it. Not to mention that the chairs were a maroon shade, the ceiling was left an off-white color, and our department became the laughing stock of the hospital. I think they're going with a much more conservative pale blue/grey for the walls right now. In the meantime, we're also getting a bunch of new file cabinets in. Big, gunmetal-grey things that look like we should be storing assault rifles in them. Granted, they're desperately needed, since we have almost no storage space left in here, but it's definitely... new. I'm just sitting in my office, working on a bit of paperwork and pondering how to rewrite an Access database from scratch (as mentioned in yesterday's entry). I know what I want it to do, but I'm still putting the relationships together in some sort of vaguely comprehensible way. Ugh. It smells like paint in here. Currently going on a bit of a sugar/caffeine rush... someone restocked our perpetually empty fridge with about two dozen bottles of Coke. I've downed six so far. Woo! *buzzzzz* Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
