Today was the day the new database at work started up, after IS spent the weekend running the conversion programs to bring it up to date. From what I'm told, it went without a hitch. Granted, there's the usual cleanup to be done after such a project (we've been working on this for the last four to five months), and a few of the departments need to get some of their data back in line with the new formats, but overall it was a success. It's a relief - the new version of the database has a couple of new features in it that'll make my job a lot easier, and the fact that it started up without setting everything in a five block radius on fire is just great. Woo!
