My wife Jen and I are expecting our first child in February, and now that all of our family members have been told, we're making the announcement public. Right about now, Jen has just started the ninth week of pregnancy (nine weeks and one day), so our daughter is slated to be born on February 22, 2006.

Did I say daughter? Yup. I did. We already know the gender of the baby due to a new test that can be taken at an earlier stage of the pregnancy. We've already decided on a name for her too - Kaylea (pronounced KAY-lee).

Holy crap, I'm going to be a father.
