Well, it's official. Jen and I no longer live in Los Angeles.

The past week and a half have been pretty hectic. Last Friday was my last day of work at Good Samaritan Hospital after close to eight years there, and a lot of time was spent getting my replacement trained up to speed on all my processes. She picked it up pretty quickly, so I think things are going to be in good hands there.

From that point on, we spent most of our free time getting our apartment packed up. Jen's mom flew in on Sunday to give us a hand. We finished packing on Wednesday, after some REALLY late nights (once or twice ending at 4:30am)... in fact, we were still taping boxes shut while the movers were taking others down to the truck. They were also able to load both of the cars into the truck, so everything will be arriving at the same time - probably on the 29th.

After the movers left, we turned in our keys and headed out to the hotel since our flight wasn't until Thursday evening. It was nice to just be able to relax for a few hours, at least, since I was (and still am, somewhat) pretty sore from lugging boxes all over the place. We checked out Thursday afternoon and headed to the airport for our flight to Milwaukee.

The flight was, well... interesting. Gabriel was an angel, sleeping most of the way there, but some loser toward the front of the plane got wasted when he stole a few bottles of wine from the first class section. Pretty easy to tell which one he was... it was the guy who kept hitting on anything female and occasionally standing up and yelling "Dance Party!" A few of Milwaukee's finest were waiting for him when he got off the plane. Ha.

The weather was uncooperative when we got here. Normally, the drive to Jen's mom's house takes about 3 hours, but the fog was so bad that it took us over 4 hours to get here. I don't think we could see more than 50 feet in front of us the entire way there. Jen was riding shotgun to make sure her mom was able to drive safely.

So, here we are. In a few days we'll be heading back into Milwaukee to check out the apartment and open our new bank accounts here.

For now, though... rest.

*snore*
