2007-03-30 3:15 PM Frustration and Hope Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Tired Read/Post Comments (3) As I mentioned in my last entry, one of the things Jen and I have been doing lately is playing on Full Tilt Poker. They have tournaments called Freerolls where you don't have to put down any real money to enter it, but you can actually win real money if you do well enough. Not a lot (top prize is $15), but it's something to start playing their real-money games on there and possibly win more.
We both entered one last night which started at 1:40am. Not a big deal - we had both slept in a bit, and the baby was still awake. There were 2,700 entrants into it, and the top 1% (27 people) won money. So, if you placed in the top 27 people, you get cash. Four and a half hours later, Jen and I busted out of the tournament. Both of us missed being in the money by less than 10 people. Jen was (I think) 36th, and I was 34th. Absolutely frustrating, especially since were were both dead tired at the end of it with nothing to show for it. As for the hope part of things, I had my phone interview today with Rexnord Industries. I think it went well - my skills seem to be exactly what their open position calls for, and they want me to come in probably next Thursday for a face-to-face interview. Got my fingers crossed on this one. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
