This past week has been good, which is kind of a nice change of pace from the insanity of previous weeks.

First and foremost, congratulations to my sister Donna. My baby sister Donna. Who's ten years younger than I am, and making me feel older by the day. Not only has she scored an internship in the laboratory at Mount Sinai hospital in New York, but yesterday her boyfriend Matt proposed to her. My little sister is getting married. Yeesh, I'm old. Congrats, sis!

On a personal note, this afternoon I passed my examination to become certified as a Professional in Human Resources. I've been studying for this for the past two months or so, and to have finally gotten it out of the way is a huge burden off my shoulders. Whereas before I normally concentrated mostly on the database systems for a human resources department, I've now got the training to start working in other aspects of it as well (recruitment and employment, benefits and compensation, labor relations, risk management, etc.). The test was scheduled for four hours, but I got it done in just over one... 225 multiple choice questions. For some reason, the correct answer just jumped off the screen at me - all the practice tests I took had at least some ambiguity between two (or more) answers. So, I kicked its ass in short order and came home. Woot.

Things have been looking up in the job hunt department as well. I had two interviews this past week - one face to face one with an engine manufacturer, and a phone interview with a major printing company. I've got my fingers crossed for the printing company, since they've got an on-site daycare center and are only a few minutes drive from our apartment. I'm hoping to hear back from one or both either tomorrow or early next week.
