::I’ve been a bit lax about posting blog entries lately, but I have been making progress in the two April articles for Savorys by Shenanchie and Food Fare (Thailand and Artichoke Ambrosia). In between, I have also been adding to the upcoming Vegan and Diabetic recipe pages for Shenanchie’s Kitchen and I’m sure they will be ready by April as well. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to create a spice substitution page (as requested by a reader), but perhaps I can have something ready by the July update instead. On the flip side of my writing, I also had a deadline for my next article at Ambermont Magazine (“The Gift of Gab”), but thankfully I was able to finish on time.

More Food News: Last week I received a link exchange request from The Green Cutting Board, a website-blog for vegetarians that is also a source for vegetarian news, recipes, comment, editorials and publications. I was a bit puzzled because Shenanchie’s Kitchen is not predominantly vegetarian in any sense, although I did inform the author The Green Cutting Board I was putting together a page of vegan recipes for April. Below is the response I received:

Yes we absolutely want to link with your site. My wife Nancy and I publish The Green Cutting Board not just because we're vegetarian; Nancy is a writer and I like to cook so our site is a natural progression. We like your site for a number of reasons that have nothing to do with vegetarianism and we are certain that our readers will as well.

Very nice indeed, and I look forward to getting the vegan page up and receiving feedback from anyone interested. On that note, several posts have been made at Shenanchie’s Food Forum, many people offering their favorite vegetarian dishes for addition to the upcoming page. A few people have also posted diabetic recipes, and this will be helpful as I continue to construct that page. While I may not use all recipes posted on either the vegan or diabetic pages, I’m appreciative to those who have taken the time to respond.
