2004-08-08 10:45 PM Grousing About KFC Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) My husband and I went to Kentucky Fried Chicken for dinner tonight, and we were both appalled by the outrageous prices that seemed to apply to just about everything on the menu. We get food at KFC once or twice a year, and we typically order a bucket of original recipe chicken (which seems to remain reasonably priced). However, today we ordered the chicken “Twister” wraps, which were on sale for $2.99. The wraps were good but not nearly worth the cost (the meal was a simple flour tortilla filled with two strips of roasted chicken, a bit of lettuce and some sort of white sauce).
I’m either out of touch with reality, or KFC is pulling a slow-but-sure grand rip-off. A chicken pot pie goes for $5.19 (what!?), and a meal of three chicken strips runs for more than $6. Is there a shortage of chicken I don’t know about? How much does it really cost to cook two moderate-sized pieces of chicken, and then throw them into a four tortilla with lettuce?
On a brighter note, Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies come at half the price of KFC’s, but are just as tasty.
I don’t mean to grouse about it, but I find the escalating prices of fast food to be incredulous. Is it just me, or do we get less quantity and quality for more money nowadays? Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
