Ba-da-bup-bah-bah, I'm Lovin' It (?)

First day of training, finally, after many days of waiting. After many days of paperwork and orientation. You'd think I'd be happy, right? Ok, I am happy, but I don't think my body agrees with me.

Uhm... *thinks* So I got to work the cash register pretty much the entire time and Teahne (I think that's how I spell her namme. tee-ah-na.) was the crew trainer that helped me out (another crew member helped me out too a little while). I arrived there at like 8.00am and finished at 1.00pm. Without any breaks. Hey, I didn't know we could ask! Teahne said they pretty much just tell you when you can take a break. Idk, I think it's ok to take a break since she asked twice. My sides and my head hurts, but they only started hurting like half-hour before my shift ended. It's probably because I didn't take a break, but I can fix the pain problem when I do.

That cash register scared me a lot when I first saw it. I mean, it looks pretty cool, being touch-screen and all, but the part I'm intimidated about is knowing which buttons are which and which buttons to press, especially when someone has a coupon or doesn't want a certain item on their food. The buttons are all abbrieviated, so it took me a while to figure out that a 'SSCHK' was a 'Southern-Style Chicken Sandwich' and such. There was this one lady who had SEVEN orders at one time! It was ridiculous! I guess she was ordering for a bunch of other people. I was able to ring up two orders with Teahne's help, while she took care of the other five orders. (Sidenote: always ask people their names so that I could write it on their receipt if they're waiting for their order. I forgot that several times..)

So yep, I'm at the library (a place I'm actually familiar with) right now and there was a little kid throwing a tantrum a few seconds ago. Yep, there was at least one kid like that at work. But that's ok, I'll get used to it. Teahne said I did pretty good and all I need to do is speak louder when addressing the customer (because I am REALLY soft-spoken), but I'll fix that too. Just greet, smile, and take the order.

Yeah, it'll be one fun ride.

Checklist:
-State ID [got it!]
-Driver's Licence [still working on it..]
-A decent job [got it!]
-Money to pay for college books [got it!]
-Participation in the ministry [got it!]

Keep moving but never forget the people who crossed our paths.
Change can be a harsh mistress, but we all need it sometimes.
Sometimes good-bye is a second chance.
