Well, I'm obviously running out of entry titles...but luckily, September will soon be over, all my old titles will be hidden in the archives, and--hurrah!--I can sneakily start to re-use them. Meanwhile, I'm finishing up my breakfast of strawberry yogurt-mixed-with-muesli, and enjoying it a lot.

Last night when Patrick and I walked down to the village store (ah, the call of Gluehwein...among other things, we needed more red wine to mull), the sky really looked as if it were in flames. It was the most stunning sunset I've ever seen, laid out over the green hills. Almost every day, the beauty of the countryside amazes me. I'm such a city girl, I never expect to find horses, cows or sheep in my own neighborhood...

I finished Story No. 2 last night, and I'm really happy with it. It did what I wanted it to do, and it's as cool as I hoped it would be. (I feel like I should re-title this entry and the last one "Arrogant Bastard," like Tim Pratt and Heather Shaw did for their themed entries....Well, Michael Swanwick said to always act/feel confident about your own writing, so I'm trying.)

Now on to a week of concentration on the novel, before I start Story No. 3 on Saturday....

And in the meantime, I'm actually feeling much better about and more focused on my academic work, now that the fiction writing feels good again. Funny, how that works.
