Thursday headaches

Well, to make up for how good this past weekend was, by mid-Monday I'd come down with a nasty stomach flu. I was just better enough by this morning to drag myself into work to do a big presentation, but I'm still feeling pretty headachey and limp. Bah. I would have so much preferred to stay in WonderWeekend mode...

And (just to whine even more) there have been builders in our house all week. So, no privacy during the daytime because they're working on the hole they've knocked in our living room, and no space even at night, because a third of our living room has been blocked off by a big transparent working screen (so the rest of the room, of course, is crammed to the gills with books and storage piled on top of the floor and tables, with no room to move around). Originally the builders claimed it might take just one day but probably two. Today was the third day, and there's no sign of any end in sight, so I think we're just going to have to get used to this lifestyle for a while. No fun whatsoever. (And no way to nap off the last bits of the flu, either, with hammering and whistling and singing going on inside the house.)

Okay, I think I've vented enough.

Probably needless to say (bad mood, sick, etc.) I haven't done any rewriting of CoS in the last couple of days, but I did start a new short story just for fun yesterday, and so far, I'm really enjoying it. It's a very light-hearted historical fantasy, which feels like slurping a big chocolate milkshake. Soon I must return to Serious Revision Work. Soon. But first...well, first, I'll just write a bit more about Agatha Tremain and her adventures with magic. Because it helps to clear the head-aches away.
