What I love most about this meez (besides the fact that they actually had a perfect picture of Maya, under the so-appropriate name of "Rascal"!) is that this background looks exactly like the forested valley near our house. The only thing I don't believe is that Maya would ever sit still while she was being petted...she is very much a wiggle-with-pleasure-and-excitement girl! If we were ever out in the woods and she froze stock-still like that while I was petting her, I would get very, very nervous. And then I would definitely stick a leash back on her before she could leap straight at whatever squirrel or bird she was fixing on! Making my meez was a great way of relaxing after a writing session of total TRUDGE. I don't know why, but writing really has turned into a trudge in the last few days...maybe because I took two days off? Or is it just because I'm in the dreaded Middle of the book? I don't know. The good news is, I actually do like the new stuff I'm writing for Kat; it's only the process itself that feels a bit grim. I've set myself a goal of 1,000 words a day, and this morning I kept doing desperate word counts as I wrote (902 words to go...850 words to go...). I wrote 1028 words in the end and then stopped with a great feeling of relief. (I stopped on a good bit, too, to help prepare for tomorrow - the next bit of dialogue is going to be all about highwaymen!) I know this is all part of the normal process (sometimes writing is fun, sometimes it's TRUDGE, and it all works out in the end), but lord, I'm so ready to get back to the fun, speeding-through-it part of the cycle again! And now I just want to go hang out in that wooded valley with Maya...but probably with her leash carefully in hand! Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
