Really, this says it all. ;)

Apart from that, though, it's been a good, quiet day. This morning, we went out to the bookstore-café, where I drank a Signature hot chocolate and read a lovely new Christmas novella by Connie Willis in the December issue of Asimov's. This afternoon I've mostly been doing the important-but-less-exciting aspect of writing, which is the printing-bits-out, addressing-envelopes, signing-cover-letters, etc. All good.

And just to pass on this news to anyone who hasn't already heard it - the deadline for both Clarion West and Clarion has been moved to March 1, 2008. I worked as the Assistant to the Director at Clarion one summer and attended Clarion West another. They're both fantastic programs (although of course I have a huge personal preference for Clarion West - go figure!) and the line-up of instructors this year for both of them looks fantastic. The 2008 Clarion West instructors are Chuck Palahniuck, Connie Willis, Sheree R. Thomas, Cory Doctorow, Paul Park, and Mary Rosenblum, and the Clarion instructors are Kelly Link, James Patrick Kelly, Mary Anne Mohanraj, Nalo Hopkinson, Neil Gaiman, and Geoff Ryman. So if anyone's been thinking for a while about trying a Clarion workshop (which I did for years and years, in a nervously casual way, without ever actually, y'know, applying for either of them!), then this would be a great year to make your move.
