I had all sorts of cheerful things I was going to blog about today.
Then I started hearing from friends in Australia.
The latest death count I've seen is 166 people killed by the fires. And the stories that go along with that - even the stories of survival - are horrific.
The Australian Red Cross is running a Victoria Bushfires Appeal. If you can donate anything at all, even the smallest sums will help.
