I'm trying to remember where the response:
"Please don't call me Shirley!",
is given when someone else had previously said:
"Surely, this or that...", originally came from?

I believe I first heard it in 1980 in Airplane! with the incomparable Leslie Nielsen who is always hilarious in every movie I've ever seen, that he's been in.

Does anyone have other information or anecdotes about this funny line?
