2008-03-06 4:23 PM A Fictional Eulogy? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) I just finished a Science Fiction book called SPIN by Robert Charles Wilson. In all of the SF that I have read in my life, and that's quite a little, this twist on technology was unique and very well handled.
I would like to quote this eulogy for one of the main characters (page 430), who I will refer to as quot;...quot;, (in case you read this book): "... had dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge, not arrogantly but humbly: he understood that knowledge wasn't created but discovered; it couldn't be owned, only shared, hand to hand, generation to generation. ... had made himself a part of that sharing and was part of it still. ... had woven himself into the network of knowing."I thought of my Brother Peter.
