In a telephone conversation this morning with an old High School friend, he heard me pantingly pick up the phone as I had hurried in from the back yard, and asked me politely, "Are you awake?" (Any quotes are approximate, which coincidently, mimics my memory...)

I replied that I had returned from taking out the "Organic Garbage", which is my common phrase meaning "Kitchen Waste To Be Made Into Soil By Worms And Other Mysterious Physics".

"Oh," he replied, and I could almost see his head shake as I heard him sigh, "yeah, THEY MAKE EVERYTHING ORGANIC THESE DAYS!".

After I got off the phone, I realized this was one of the weirdest and funniest conversational exchanges I've had in a very long time!
